Philadelphia Artists’ Books Travel to Venice

The diverse range of books in this exhibition reflect the talents of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers, Philadelphia, USA.

The exhibtion, curated by Alice Austin, includes traditional leather bindings, complexly folded paper, colorful printing, calligraphy, and whimsical combinations of found objects.

The purchase prize winner was Eriko Takahashi for her heartfelt and beautiful book, PEACE CRANE 3.11.2011, designed, written and bound in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, March 11, 2011. (as pictured)

This exhibition of wonderful books was on show from  3 – 30 June 2011 at the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, USA and will be coming here to SG Gallery at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, Venice in October 2011.

8 October 2011 on the occasion of AMACI GIORNATA DEL CONTEMPORANEO the gallery will be open.
