Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts
During our stay in Tianjin Print Workshop we had the possibility to visit Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. It’s about one and a half hour driving from the workshop.
Yes…, it is not the same Art Academy like in Europe. We visited Chinese painting class, where students learning from old masters. They make not copies, like we were thinking in the beginning, but they were trying to feel and to understand how old masters were creating, and to express it with the brush.
But the main Department in the Academy, and not only in this Academy, is the Printmaking Department.
Here artist from USA, Evan Summer, had the lecture-presentation of his works and short workshop about intaglio for the students.
